Beth Harwood 1923 ~ 2008 F. Beth Reynolds Harwood, age 84, was called home to her Heavenly Father March 30, 2008 after completion of an extraordinary life of love and service to all who knew her. She was born July 13, 1923 to Scott and Betsey Johnson Reynolds in Farmington, Utah. She graduated from South High School and earned a certificate in cosmetology. She married her sweetheart, Leo E. Harwood August 7, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. During WWII she worked at Fort Douglas and Camp Consair in San Diego, CA. She later worked at Sperry Univac for 12 years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including 20 years in the Primary organization. She loved her family and served all around her with humility and Christ-like love. She could make meals stretch for as many people as need be. All were welcomed and embraced in her home. Besides her own children, many others who needed a place to stay and a loving heart lived with Beth and Leo at different times. She loved fishing (and managed to catch the best ones), camping, a good game of Canasta, parades, making events special and bargain shopping. She leaves a legacy of love few could follow. Beth is survived by her husband, Leo; sons: Dee (Nancy) Harwood, Chris (Marsha) Harwood; daughters: Kathy (Vergil) Young, Becky (Robert) Olsen; brother, Rell (Rwilda) Reynolds; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judy (Wayne) McAllister; siblings: Randall (Ardell) Reynolds, Lyman (Gertie) Reynolds, Wylo (Afton) Reynolds, Vee (Lois) Reynolds, Bessie (Bob) Mellon, Cleola (Roger) Evans, William Reynolds, Arlise Reynolds and LaRue Reynolds. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for the many loving hearts and helping hands that have sustained mom and dad over the past years. Our sincere thanks are extended to the IHC Hospice workers who made it easier for mom to be at home with dad during her illness. We also thank our dear, sweet cousin, Janet Russell, for her steady, unwavering love and service to our parents. Your kindness will always be remembered. God bless all of you.
