Faye Jackson

Vada Faye McGovern Jackson, 93, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Safford. She was born on July 17, 1917, in Decatur, TX, to Thomas and Ruby McGovern. She married Luther Jackson on October 17, 1936 in Decatur, TX. Luther passed away in 1996. Faye was a wonderful homemaker; quilting, canning, cooking, embroidering, crocheting and a seamstress. She made home a wonderful place for her family. She is survived by her son, Darwin (Paula) Jackson of Thatcher; sisters, Mary Ruth Hill and Margarette Horn both of Oklahoma; brothers, Dwain McGovern and Thomas McGovern, Jr., both of Florida; five grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Charlie Jackson. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Safford, with Pastor Bob Holliday officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Gila Valley Memorial Gardens.
