Felipe Sanchez

Felipe C. Sanchez, Sr., 83 of Eden passed away October 18, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona. Felipe was born September 10, 1926 in Sanchez to Ruben & Rosaura Sanchez and was 1 of 10 children. His siblings are Nicolas, Ruben, Alicia, Josefina, Willy, Nicho, Henry & Celia. He was raised and educated in Sanchez where he graduated from the Sanchez School. Felipe served in the Army during World War II in the Philippine Theater. He married Alberta Kindelay on August 1, 1949 in Safford. Felipe worked in the mine at San Manuel and as a farmer. He enjoyed gardening and being outside. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Alberta Sanchez, his children Arthur, Victor, Felipe Jr., William, Phoebe, Carol, Avalina, & Ella Mae, adopted children Gilbert & Lori, 26 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings and 2 sons Dionicio and Daniel. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, October 24 at 10 a.m. in the Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel. Felipe will be laid to rest at the Sanchez Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Gila Valley Honor Guard.
