Florencio Baca

Biography Florencio Pedro Baca, 76 of Safford passed away November 24, 2010 at the Sunset Hills Care Center. He was born August 11, 1934 in Argon, New Mexico to Pedro & Barbara Padilla Baca. Florencio married his sweetheart Rosa Arvallo Baca on November 6, 1954 in Morenci. He worked for Phelps Dodge as a truck driver and liked to reminisce in his later years about his experiences in Morenci. Florencio enjoyed spending time with his family, cleaning his yard, and collecting belt buckles. In 2004 he and Rosa celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Florencio was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Baca, sister Virginia Baca and brother Joe Baca. He is survived by his wife Rosa Baca, children David (Susan) Baca, Sam (Jill) Baca, Ruben (Kathy) Baca, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, siblings Simon Baca, Herman Baca and Belen Baca. Viewing will be Thursday, December 2 at 6 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Church with Rosary service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 2 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima. Interment will follow in Safford Cemetery.
