Biography Our Eternal Creator welcomed Fortunata Andazola Ortega into his kingdom on September 27, 2011. Born on June 3, 1909 to a pioneer copper mining family, Pedro Andazola and Adeliada Orozco in Metcalf, Arizona Territory, Nana lived most of her life in the Clifton-Morenci-Metcalf area, and was a life-long member of Club Verde. She was preceded in death by husband Dario, three infant children, and daughter Yolanda and Yolandas husband James Esparza. Brothers Alberto and Francisco Andazola, sisters Blasa Cartagena and Adela Brown also preceded her in death. Nana is survived by sister-in-law Juanita Andazola, daughters Ida Baltz (Richard), Elida Figueroa, Rosie Ruiz (Eliseo), sons Ismael (Frances), Dario (Carmela), and Mike (Toni), 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Nana blessed all her family and friends with unconditional love, compassion and understanding. As a woman of faith, she lived her life as her savior Jesus the Christ taught her. Love, faith and hope guided her 102 years of life. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton, with Rev. Father Martin Atanga-Baabuge as Celebrant. Rosary will be recited prior to Mass at 9 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Morenci.
