Frank Ronald Perkins 1921 ~ 2009 Frank Ronald Perkins, 88, passed away June 29, 2009, at his home in West Valley City, Utah, with his loving family by his side. Ron was born January 29, 1921 in Price, Utah to Frank and Lavina Wardle Perkins. He married Jennie Bernice Kinder November 22, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple February 1, 1996. He served in the US Navy for four years during WWII. Ronald loved music and animals, especially horses, and hunting, fishing and building things, but most of all he loved his wife, of 66 years, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ronald played the guitar and mandolin and had a small Western band of five players, Rhythm Rascals. They were known for their love of playing at senior citizen centers. He was a member of the Salt Lake County Sheriff Posse for 8 years. He worked at Tooele Army Depot for 27 years where he was a Jack of all trades and master of all. He is survived by three daughters: Lorene (Marv) Thomas, Sharon (Ernie) Beacham, Sandi Shores; son, Ronald Perkins; foster son, Bernal Rice; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife on October 9, 2006; daughter, Connie Rae Richins and son-in-law, Paul Shores. The family would like to express a special thanks to Life Path for their support at this special time and to his son, Ronald, for his long and loving care of his father in the last years of his life. Also to Austin and Colton Perkins for the love and care that was given to their grandfather in his last few days. Funeral services will be held Monday, 12:00 noon at the Hunter 29th Ward, 3745 South 6400 West. Viewings will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
