Gail Joyce Saline, born July 15, 1942 in Whittier, CA, to Allen Keith and Mezzie Joy "Tiny" Woolsey Taylor, passed away on November 5, 2017 with her family by her side.
Joyce grew up in Pima, Arizona, with her family, attending and graduating from Pima High School. Joyce participated in volleyball, softball, student council, class officer, Glee, Band, Girls State, F.H.A., Les Juenes Filles, G.A.A., Cheerleader, and Annual Editor. After high School she attended Eastern Arizona College to further her education as a secretary or office assistant. She loved to be active and made many friends along the way. Joyce met and married her high school sweetheart, Seth Eldred Saline, on April 6, 1962 then being sealed for all eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple on May 6, 1968.
Joyce moved to Snowflake in 1964 where she worked several jobs, then retiring after 30 years as the Principal's Secretary from Snowflake Junior High School. Joyce loved the time she worked at the Junior High as she sponsored cheerleaders, coached volleyball and took tickets at every ball game at the High School. Joyce traveled the roads of Arizona following her children; Sherli, Seth, Shon, and Shelby to every ball game or activity they had, then later following her grandkids to their games and activities. It was said that she was not only supporting her own children but all of the kids who played ball with her children. Joyce loved football and had her big 5 subject note book fresh and new for every season to see if she could predict the scores of all the games. Nine times out of ten she was spot on!
Joyce loved to sing, she was part of the Liberty Belles in Snowflake. A group of housewives under the direction of Eugene Webb that performed every opportunity they got. They even sang to Muhammad Ali when he trained in Show Low, Arizona. Joyce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions, her favorite being Chorister.
Joyce leaves behind her children; Sherli (Ed) Skinner, Seth (Theresa) Saline, Shon (Holley) Saline and Shelby Holt, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, her brother Michael J. Taylor and many nieces and nephews.
Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Seth Eldred Saline, her parents Allen Keith and Mezzie Joy "Tiny" Woolsey Taylor-Bryce, her step-father Clifford N. Bryce and her brother Larry Keith Taylor.
A viewing for Joyce will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel with a graveside service following at 11:00 a.m. at the Pima Cemetery.
