Gene Bell

November 28, 1941 — June 2, 2012

Biography Gene and his wife Jackie have lived in the community since 2004 and were members of the First Southern Baptist Church. Following high school he joined the Army, receiving an honorable discharge after six years of service. He spent much of his life working as a heavy equipment operator. Some of his favorite things to do included; bowling, hunting, fishing, camping and making things out of horse shoes. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jackie Bell; his children, Toby (Cathy) Bell of Burleson, TX, Tony (Lisa) Bell of Wasilla, AK, Gina (Brian) McHenry of the Bahamas, Russell (Amber) Versteeg of Phoenix, and Jaime Versteeg of Mesa; his brother Robert Kent Bell of Fort Worth, TX; 12 grand children and 3 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services for Gene will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Thatcher with a viewing beginning at 9:00 a.m. Final interment will be in the Safford cemetery. Family suggest contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org The family would like to extended their sincere appreciate to all who may have called, stopped by or brought food. It was greatly appreciated. They would also like to invite everyone to come back to the church after the funeral for a luncheon.
