Genevieve Mary Lewis Black was born Jan. 25, 1913, in Prescott to Joseph Benjamin and Vivian Mary Lewis. She died Sept. 2, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. in Kanab, Utah, at the age of 100. She was married April 4, 1929, to Edwin Allan Black in Flagstaff. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple on Dec. 10, 1948. Genevieve is survived by her children, Alliene Jean Crocket (Larry-deceased), of Pima, Jo Anne Tucker (Clyde), of Kanab, and Lewis Allan Black (Claudia), of Blanding, Utah; 17 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Edwin Richie Black, as well as her husband, Edwin Allan Black, who died in February of 2002. Genevieve celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 25, 2013, in Kanab, with her children and great posterity. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, in Kanab.
