Georgina Marler Richards Anderson 1919 ~ 2009 Georgina Anderson, our angel mother and grandmother, passed away December 4, 2009, surrounded by family, three days before her ninetieth birthday. We are sorry you missed your party Mom, but know you are having a great one with dad, family and friends! Georgina was born December 7, 1919, in Stavely, Alberta, Canada, to Ora Lucinda Marler and Hyrum Richards. She married Douglas Lingard Anderson in the LDS Cardston, Alberta, Temple, January 19, 1938. They, with their four children, moved to Utah in 1956, living in Provo and Bountiful before settling in West Valley City. Georgina was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings. Mom was proud of her Mayflower, Revolutionary War and Mormon Pioneer ancestry. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Each of her children and grandchildren have wonderful memories of their personal experiences with grandma and grandpa. We will all miss her! Georgina and Douglas worked together to establish a successful real estate and apartment business which enabled them to bless their family and many others through their generosity. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carmen Anderson, by a daughter-in-law, Annemarie Vollmers Anderson, and by her husband, Douglas, who passed away seven years ago. They had been married 65 years. Georgina is survived by her children: Doug (Linda) Anderson, of Layton; Rod (Rocio) Anderson, of Hawaii; Bruce (Barbara) Anderson, of Bountiful, and Loretta (Don) Enders, of Farmington. She has 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Her only sister, and best friend, Joan Oxley, resides in West Valley City, Utah. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be Thursday, 6 - 8 p.m. and again Friday, 10 - 10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park
