Gerald Gary Wayne Morris, 67, of Safford passed away Friday. Gary was born December 3, 1946 in Safford, Arizona to George & Juanita Wanda Dyal Morris. He was one of nine children. After graduating from high school, Gary joined the United States Air Force and served from 1965 through 1969. Upon his return to the valley, Gary married Wanda Sue Stokos on November 7, 1969. In his free time, he enjoyed yard work, gardening, hunting and fishing, and wood working. Gary also loved to cook and eat and was known for his hot sauce and green chili beans. Gary is survived by his son, Darwin (Lori) Morris; stepsons, Jon (Andrea) Haralson and Allan Gregory; sisters, Jennie (George) Crawford of Lehi, Utah and Juanita Morris of Safford; brothers, George D. (Judy) of Mesa, Richard D. (Connie) of Windsor, CO, Stephen E. of Safford, Ivan E. (Misty) of Surprise, Jon Andrew (Valerie) of Safford and Mikel C. (Tami) of Safford; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; parents, George and Wanda; and grandson, Jake Gregory. A viewing will be conducted on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel and again one hour prior to services at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Graham LDS Chapel on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mt. Graham Chapel with interment in the Safford Cemetery.
