Gerald White

January 10, 1930 — December 12, 2008

Gerald Russell White 1930 ~ 2008 Gerald Russell White, our beloved dad, grandfather, and friend returned to Heavenly Father on December 12, 2008, from his home in South Jordan, Utah. Jerry was born January 10, 1930, in Auburn, California, to Frank Adolphus White and Eva Pearl Maxwell. He was a combat veteran in the Korean War for the 7th Calvary. He married the love of his life, Connie Ivie, on July 27, 1957, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised three children. Jerry retired from the U.S. Postal Service as an Electrical Technician after 33 years. He loved music, and taught his grandchildren how to play the guitar, violin, and piano. He lived for his family and considered them his greatest blessing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature, and a simple life surrounded by family and friends. He was also a fairly decent story and joke teller. Jerry was the kindest, nicest man you could ever be privileged to know; a true gentleman. He did not waste time telling you how to live life, he showed you. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Reed and Dean, and three sisters, Marie, Faye, and Dollie. He is survived by his wife, Connie, two brothers, Don and Lowell, daughter, Pamela (Paul) Nauta, South Jordan, two sons, Jason and Darren, South Jordan, and four grandchildren, Taylor (Mikinsie), Spencer, Sharlene, and Lena, all South Jordan, Utah. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland 5th Ward, 10115 South Yorkshire Drive (4270 West), South Jordan, Utah. Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Monday, December 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home at 4330 South Redwood Road and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the church services on Tuesday, December 16. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared by emailing mcdougalfh@aol.com.
