Gilbert Renteria

Gilbert Valles Renteria was born on July 10, 1952 in Duncan, Arizona to Anita & Ambrosio Renteria.  He entered into rest on December 20, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Gilbert was youngest of 10 children.  He attended Duncan schools and began a life long career at Phelps Dodge shortly after graduation.  

In 1993 he met and married Armida Diaz. They resided in Duncan until relocating to Safford.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his two sons Leonard Bejarano & Oswald Renteria, his mother Anita, his brothers Frank Valles and Julian & Manuel Renteria, his sisters Irene Herrera & Ramona Molina.

He is survived by his wife Armida, brothers Jess & Carlos Renteria, sisters Erlinda Bencomo & Lupe Cardenas, along with many nieces & nephews.

His wit & playful nature will be missed by all who loved him.

Gilbert's services will be held on Monday, December 30th at the St. Mary's Mission beginning with a viewing at 8:00 a.m. followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 9:00 with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00.  Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery.
