Gregory J. Galvin, Sr., 79, of York Valley, passed away February 16, 2016 at home with his family at his side. He was born February 1, 1937 in Hibbing, Minnesota to Edward Francis and Martha Wailbrenner Galvin.He attended schools in Yuma, AZ and graduated from Yuma High School as the State Champion in the 1 mile run in track. He then attended Arizona State University for 1 year before enlisting in the U.S. Marines where he served for 4 years as a Corporal. In August of 1965 he married Lue Ann Carter in Winter Haven, CA.Gregory was a member of the B.P.O.E. Clifton Lodge #1174 and was a past Exalted Ruler. He was a Lab Tech at the Mill in Morenci for 33 years. He loved being outdoors, camping and fishing and he really loved the desert. He was proud of his service as a Marine, his state championship in track and most importantly, his wife and children. He was definitely a family man.He is survived by his loving wife, Lue Ann Galvin, his children: Rick Lawrence, Jim Galvin and Kathy Auker, sisters; Dolores Johnson and Elizabeth Hannash and nine grandchildren.Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Martha Galvin.No services are planned at this time.
