Guy Casuccio

Guy Casuccio of Tucson, formally of Safford, passed away May 5, 2024. He was born on November 11, 1941 in Camden, NJ to Guy Casuccio. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lynne.  Guy is survived by his son, Guy’o Casuccio, his daughter, Lisa (Michael Connell) Smetanick, his son, David (Jen) Smetanick, his sister, Helen Gause, his four grandchildren, Cassi, Carli, Jennifer, and Derek, and his three great grandchildren, Ayla, Capri, and Nolah. 

Guy served in the United States Navy and worked as a foreman in a zinc smelter near Pittsburgh, PA. Guy moved to Morenci, Arizona in 1980 and was employed by Phelps Dodge. He moved to Safford in 1983 after his daughter, Lisa, graduated high school.  After working for PD, he was employed by Open Loop Energy in Safford.

Guy had an enduring love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  He enjoyed golf and the friendships he created there.  He loved playing with his dogs.  Guy also loved spending time in his yard, planting trees, shrubs, landscaping, and taking in nature. When Guy’s health was good, he cherished his trips back to Pennsylvania to see his son, Guy’o and his family, his sister, and his cousins and their families. 

In 2020 Guy moved to Tucson to be closer to family.  He bought a lovely home only five minutes from his daughter’s home. He enjoyed having dinner with his daughter and son-in-law on the weekends and spending time with his new puppy, Coco. Decorating and improving his new home became a hobby for Guy.  He landscaped, and added a beautiful covered patio from which he enjoyed watching the birds, while playing with his dog.

Throughout his life, Guy touched the hearts of those around him with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.

Guy will always be remembered for his warm smile and gentle demeanor. He had a strong work ethic and was dedicated to providing for his loved ones. Guy's passion for life was infectious, and he always found joy in the simple things. Guy's presence brought happiness to those fortunate enough to know him.

Guy Casuccio will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.

A funeral service for Guy will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 12:00 PM at McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
