Gwen Arego

Gwen Arego 1934 ~ 2008 Gwen was a generous, compassionate and forgiving spirit; caring more for the well being of friends and family above herself. She was a golf enthusiast playing Glenmoor for decades. She showed infinite patience teaching her kids and grandkids, always emphasizing the etiquette of the sport. She was a sharp card player, enjoying Pinocle, Bridge and Gin (cards not drink). She loved her work running a successful real estate company for many years and helping young families realize the American ideal of owning a home. Gwen was raised in Garfield and lived in Magna, Kearns, West Jordan and South Jordan. She raised and loved five children: Mike (deceased), Eddie (deceased), Frankie, John and Vicki (Rippey) Pace. She shared love and laughs with seven plus four grandkids and seven plus three greats. She was the daughter of Ray and Dorothy Merrill, with sister, Marilyn (Cookie) Coon; husband, John; all having passed; and brother, George Merrill. Gwen lived 75 years to the day, leaving us January 12, 2009. Services will be held Friday, January 16th , 1:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
