Hans E. Dammaschke 1940 ~ 2009 Hans E. Dammaschke, South Jordan, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away November 8, 2009. Hans was born in Hamburg, Germany October 3, 1940 to Hans and Herta Dammaschke. He immigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah with his mom, brother and three sisters in 1951. He married his sweetheart April 19, 1987. He was loved by all who knew him. He loved being around people and being the life of the party. He thoroughly enjoyed helping those around him by putting them before himself. He is survived by his loving wife, Shanna; six children: Geraldine Bailey, Heidi (Pete) Petermann, Michelle Dammaschke, Tina Dammaschke, Shaun (Jeni) Vought, Cory (Tiffany) Vought; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Dammaschke; sisters, Lynda (Fred) Zwick, Anne (Vern) Sisam, Adell (Frank) Aiello; mother-in-law, Mary Elaine Smith; brother-in-law, Bruce (Carol) Smith; sister-in-law, Janene (Scott) Alvey, as well as many, many friends. A viewing will be held Thursday, November 12, 2009, 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 13, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Glenmore LDS Chapel, 4147 West Skye Drive (9800 South), South Jordan, Utah where friends and family may call one hour prior to funeral services. Interment will follow at Redwood Memorial Estates.
