Harvey Lunt

Harvey Oden Lunt, Jr., 65, of Thatcher, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 in Safford, AZ. Harvey was born February 28, 1949 to Harvey Oden Sr. and Betty June Heath Lunt in Morenci, AZ. Harvey graduated from Morenci High School in 1967 and Northern Arizona University in 1976 with a degree in Criminal Investigation. He met the love of his life, Kathy Ingram and they were married on March 31, 1977 in Morenci. In his younger years he had 5 horses and loved roping and riding until he got tied up in barbed wire with a borrowed horse. Harvey was an officer for the Flagstaff Police Department and a Sergeant in Clifton for two years. He retired from Freeport after 25 years. Harvey was also a member of the Elks Lodge. He loved going to Laughlin, fishing and hunting but most of all he loved being a husband, father, grandfather and special uncle. Harvey is survived by his wife, Kathy Lunt, son; Harvey (Paula) Lunt III, daughter Crystal Lunt, grandchildren; Erika, Kaylee, Donna, Brennen and Nathan, Jr., brother; Gary Lunt, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Betty, his in-laws; Leonard and Virginia Ingram. A viewing for Harvey will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with the services at 11:00 a.m. at Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
