Harvey Paul Mott, 81, of Thatcher, entered into rest on February 7, 2013. He was born on January 20, 1932 in Alamosa, Colorado to Joseph and Annie Prudence Mott. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He proudly served his country by serving in the United States Air Force; active duty in Korea. He earned his Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. After graduating, he taught school in Solomon for one year and then transferred to the Thatcher School District. He was a teacher at Thatcher Elementary School for many years. During those years he taught 4th grade and 6th grade math classes. He loved coaching and watching youth sports and had a love of gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene Taylor Mott; daughter, Laurel Kay (Wayne) Barney; son, Paul David (Heather) Mott; brothers, Troy Mott of Provo, UT and Dean G. Mott of Kaysville, UT; sisters, Jewel Fox of Provo, UT and Wilma Horton of La Jara, Colorado; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Saturday, February 16th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Thatcher LDS Stake Center. The funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Stake Center. Services will be conducted by Bishop Ron Howard. Interment will follow in the Thatcher cemetery.
