Harvey Leslie Ray, 85, of Thatcher, passed away August 7, 2017 in Safford. He was born October 25, 1931 in Windom, Minnesota to Clifford Weslie & Adeline Wildfever Ray.
He went to school in Windom with his grade school years at District 25 and graduated from Windom High School in 1949. He worked for Toro in St. James for 3 years then at Peter & Edgewater for 9 years. Harvey served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army from 1950 until 1952, serving in Munich, Germany.
In 1955, Harvey married Marion Baker and they had six children: Debra, Randy, Ricky, Denise, Ronald & Rodney. Harvey then began working for B@R Distributing and worked for 19 years then went to work at Bedford for 15 years.
In 1973 Harvey married Lorna Brynjulson and added her three children to the mix: Debra, Kevin & Gerald. In 1992 Harvey retired and they moved to Thatcher, AZ where he enjoyed fishing, football, bowling & golf. Harvey was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Lorna, children & step-children: Debra, Randy, Ricky, Denise, Ronald, Rodney, Debra, Kevin & Gerald, 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Robert, Gene, James, Verlan, Larry, Eva, Loise, Karen, Sharon, Marilyn & Marsha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford & Adeline Ray, brother Bruce and one sister.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church following Sunday services.
