Hazel Irene Bird, 85, passed on October 10, 2010 in Duncan, Arizona, after a long illness. She was a long time resident of Parkland, Washington having moved to Arizona in 2008 to be with her daughter. She was born in Cloverdale, BC, Canada on August 2, 1925. At eighteen she joined the CWAC (Canadian Womens Army Corp) where she met the love of her life, Ivory J. Bird and they married in 1947. She was an avid golfer and also loved to work in her yard. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Farrington of AZ; grandsons, Eric Bird of Tacoma, Anthony Bird of Seattle, and Chris Farrington of AZ; Daughter-in-law, Heromi Bird of Tacoma; Brother, David A. Pease, of Hope, BC, Canada, Sister-in-law, Karen Bird of FL and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivory J. Bird; son, Bruce P. Bird, parents, Earl and Valerie Pease. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 16th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Parkland Ward at 2 p.m., friends may call on Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mountain View Memorial Cemetery.
