Helen Barton 1924 2009 Helen Ahlstrom Barton passed away April 12, 2009, after a short bout with cancer, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a woman of virtue, humility and integrity. She treasured her family and her many friends. In her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed her trips with the Senior Tours. She was raised in Salt Lake County, served in the Navy for two years and retired from the Tooele Army Depot. Mom was born to Ray and Eva Ahlstrom Butler March 20, 1924 in Moroni, Utah. She married John Knickerbocker in 1946. They were one of the first 100 families of Kearns. They had six children together and later divorced. Mom and Alton Barton, the love of her life, were married on April 26, 1966. The marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. She is survived by siblings: Burt Ahlstrom, Betty Ison, Beverly Cahoon; her children: Ed (Valerie) Knickerbocker, Susan Calder, Tom Knickerbocker, Cheryl Davis, Kevin Knickerbocker, Cindy Knickerbocker; step children: Neill Barton and Eileen Norris; grandchildren: Patti Knickerbocker, Sonja Runyan, Corby Mitchell, Mike Calder, Diane Calder, Rachel Knickerbocker, Sarah Knickerbocker, Jan Thorell, Savannah Young and Paxton Young. Frank and Linda Morgan, with their children, are considered a valuable part of Moms family. Preceded in death by her husband, Alton Bart Barton; and siblings Myrtle Wozab and Del Ray Ahlstrom. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009, 6- 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
