Helen Craig

Helen Craig, 90, of Safford, passed away January 9, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and care givers at Eastwood Assisted Living in Safford. She was born May 18, 1921 in Dos Cabezas, Arizona to Refugio and Angela Arivzu Pacheco. She was one of seven children and attended school in Artesia. Helen was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters of America, and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Dean Craig; her parents; two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Teri (Ray) Thiessen of Thatcher, Mary Ellen Bencomo of Tucson, Carolyn Antillon of Mesa and her sons, James Craig of Thatcher and Mike Vindiola of Dallas, Texas. Visitation and Rosary will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic church on Monday, January 16. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the recitation of the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Safford Cemetery. Family suggests donations be made to Mt. Graham Hospice Services, and Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center of Safford.
