Helen Lopez

Helen S. Lopez of Solomon passed away on August 29, 2020, at her home with her family near. She was born on November 10, 1930, in Solomon to parents George L. Sainz & Gabriela Carreon Sainz and siblings Elisa, Virginia, Jesse, and Jose. Helen graduated from Safford High School. She married Victor Lopez and began working as a teacher's aide. The family began to grow with the births of each of their children; Mary, Judy, and Victoria. Helen enjoyed reading and shopping and was overjoyed with the births of her grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, units 4, 28, and 32. She is survived by her children Mary Vizcarra, Judy Rodriguez, and Victoria Romero, 4 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild with another one on the way. Helen is preceded in death by her husband Victor Lopez, her parents George and Gabriela Sainz, her sisters Elisa, Virginia, and Jesse, and her brother Jose. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 9th beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Solomon. Interment will be in the Solomon Cemetery following services.
