Helen White

Helen Reed White, 94 of Duncan passed away January 14, 2010 in Safford. Helen was born May 8, 1915 in Marlow, Oklahoma to W. Carson & Bessie May Fain Reed. She moved to the Gila Valley when she was 2 years old and attended Thatcher and Safford Schools graduating from Safford High School. Helen worked for many years in the Duncan Post Office and served as the Post Mistress. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family at the cabin in Alpine. Helen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry O. White, daughters Judy & Harriet June, daughter-in-law Judy Lee White, and 7 siblings. Helen is survived by her sons Reed (Jan) White and John Carson (Sharon) White, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A special thank you to the town of Duncan and the staff at The Arbor's for all their care and support given to Helen and her family. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Duncan LDS Stake Center with viewing one hour prior. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery.
