Henry Dale Young 1927 ~ 2010 Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Henry Dale Young, passed away May 31, 2010. Dale was the youngest of five children born to John Oscar Young and LaVerda Read on September 11, 1927 in Boise, Idaho. He graduated from Boise High School in 1945 and later served in the U.S. Navy. He married Sarah Helen Burgess, of Rigby, Idaho, on September 17, 1947 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Dale worked with his father and brothers in a family business, J. O. Young & Sons Construction Company in Nampa, Idaho. In 1961 he moved his family to Granger, Utah where he worked for Hercules Powder Company until retiring in 1989. He was an active member of the LDS Church. Dale is survived by his wife, Helen; children: Steven Dale Young (Patricia), Mark Burgess Young, David Lynn Young (Jody) and Susan Tucker (Michael); 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; brother, J. O. Young (Pearl), Read Young (Kaye), both of Nampa, Idaho; and Carol Brown (J.R.), of Yukon, Oklahoma. Preceded in death by his parents, John and LaVerda Young; sister, LuRene Young; and grandson, Cody Ryan Young. The family would like to thank Tom Loken for his special care as well as the loving care provided by the wonderful nurses and staff at the Utah State Veterans Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Hunter Village Ward, 7035 West Loch Ness Ave. (3605 So.) Turn south on Callao Dr, 7040 W. A viewing will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
