Irene Angle

Irene Crockett Hancock Angle, 96, passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 19, 2024. She was born on March 15, 1928 to the late Hyrum and Elizabeth Lamb Crockett.

Irene is survived by her husband, Eldon Angle, and her children, Sharon (Terry-deceased) Johnson, Jerry (Jo) Hancock, Colleen (David-deceased) Wiles, Larry (Lori) Hancock and Tamara (Mitch) Brown. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings, her son, Craig C. Hancock, grandson, Brian Hancock, granddaughter, Brandy Brown, and 2 great-grandchildren. 

Her family grew to include her sweetheart’s children: Chris (Sue Ellen) Angle, Brenda Angle, Doug (Becky) Angle, Eileen (Aaron) Crandall, Lori (Mark) Noble, Lisa (Guy) Tanner, Kenneth (Delline) Angle, Rick (Tonya) Angle and Maya Brooks, Ryan Angle, Michael Angle, and Kevin Angle. She was loved by 50+ grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Irene was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was fortunate to serve two LDS missions. She was known for her caring personality. At Pima High School, where she worked as a secretary, she was loved by the students for her genuine concern and beautiful smile.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 20th Street Chapel located at 303 West 20th Street in Safford. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday the 28th at 9:00 a.m. The funeral will follow at 10:00 a.m. with interment in the Thatcher Cemetery.
