Irene Hernandez-Montoya

Irene H. Montoya, 66, of Safford, entered into rest, Monday, November 22, 2010, at her home in San Jose. Irene was born September 10, 1944 in Morenci to Raul A. and Eduvijen Hernandez. Irene graduated from Safford High School in 1963 and went on to attend Safford Beauty College. She loved caring for her children as well as others. She also enjoyed cooking, reading, traveling but most of all she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Irene is survived by three sons; Jack Montoya of Safford, Tony (Rachel) Montoya of Safford, Mario (Erin) Montoya of Thatcher, two daughters; Maria D. (Jimmy) Montoya of Safford, T.Jo (Randy) Torrio of Safford, three brothers; Raul Hernandez, Jr. of Safford, Jesus Hernandez of Phoenix, and Nazario Hernandez of Clifton. Irene is preceded in death by her parents; Raul A. and Eduvijen Hernandez, son; Jimmy H. Montoya and sister-in-law; Erma R. Hernandez. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. with Rosary at 9:00 a.m. at St Rose of Lima Church. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
