Isabel "Belle" Chavez Lujan, age 86, completed her life's journey on Christmas Day in her Tucson home. From her birth in Magdalena New Mexico, on March 31, 1934, to her death on Christmas Day 2020, she nourished people around her with love and faith. She was one of seven children born into a loving family from parents Esequiel and Anita Chavez. Isabel spent most of her life in Morenci and Safford, Arizona until deciding that moving to Tucson and getting closer to family is what her heart needed. Isabel picked up many skills throughout her life, most of which was self-taught. A few of her many talents were upholstery, leatherwork, ceramics, and anything to do with fabric and string. She also loved to bowl. Isabel was also quite famous for her home cooking, which she taught often, but no one ever duplicated. Of all Isabel's accomplishments, her number one pride and joy are the many lives she brought into the world. Left to honor Isabel and remember her love are her eleven children, Daniel Chavez, Thomas Chavez, Margie Riesgo, Dolores Chavez, Sammy Chavez, Veronica Chavez, Chris Lujan, Peter Lujan, and Bernadette Ramey. Isabel will also have someone greeting her as her sons. Ruben Chavez and Baby Sammy Chavez will be there waiting for her in heaven. Along with Isabel's 11 children, she tops it off with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Many of Isabel's friends knew her as "Belle".
Services will be held at McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel on February 26, 2021, with a rosary starting at 9:00 A.M. and the burial following at 11:00 A.M. at the Safford Cemetery.
