Ivy Hinton

Biography Ivy Montierth Hinton, born August 28, 1922, in Safford, AZ to Leslie and Hedevig Montierth, was called home Monday, October 14, 2013. Family members preceding her in death include husband Jack Hardt Hinton, grandsons JD Childers, Blake and Blair River, and son-in-law Bob River. Ivy is survived by daughters Linda Childers and Kathy River and son John (Kelly), 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ivy taught school in the Phoenix area for many years. Her greatest passion was her family and she authored several books regarding family history. Ivy was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 from 6-8 PM at the Udall Ward Building, 1st Avenue and Center in Mesa, AZ. Funeral services are Saturday at 10 AM at the same location. Burial will take place at 4:30 PM on Saturday at the Safford Cemetery in Safford, AZ.
