Jack Donald Lane, 83, of Clifton, passed away January 11, 2014. He was born December 14, 1930 on the banks of the Rio Grande River in El Paso, Texas to Edward Earl and Cora Ethel Mullins Lane. He met Nancy Jerain while picking cotton in the fields of Texas right before he left to serve in the Marine Corp. Nancy waited for his return and they were married May 14, 1953 in Ace, Texas. Jack & Nancy were blessed with three daughters; Patricia Ann, Jackie & Trudy and son Edward Charles Lane. Jack earned his Masters Degree in Auto Mechanics and from there started his many careers. They ran the Chevron gas station in Clifton for many years, Lanes Ice Service, Lanes Auto Repair on Shannon Hill, and finally, he drove haul trucks for Phelps Dodge until he retired. He was known as Jack of all trades. He loved fishing, hunting, rail riding, dirt biking, piloting airplanes and boating. He was an all around outdoorsman. The most meaningful events in his life were marrying the love of his life, Nancy, and the birth of his four children. Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy, daughters, Jackie Baca & Trudy Lane, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Earl & Cora Ethel Mullins Lane, son, Edward Charles Lane, daughter, Patricia Ann and his siblings. Graveside services for Jack will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Wards Canyon Cemetery.
