Jack G. Linden, 87, resident of Safford, AZ died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, January 7 2016. He was born in Ohio on May 15, 1928. Jack is survived by his six children: Lenore, Jack, Donna, Jerrine, Greg, and Tim, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and two his fur babies Lyndee and Scissie! As a young man providing for his family, Jack took a job with Straub Distributing in California. That's where he found his 'true calling': selling beer. Jack cherished the lifelong friendships he made building his two beer distributions and a trucking company. The well known saying, "Choose a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life" was a true statement for Jack. He enlisted in the Merchant Marines at the age of 16 and proudly served his country. It was during his time with the Merchant Marines, he found his greatest joy , boating. He loved to be out on the open water on his boat heading toward Catalina Island, his favorite retreat. He also deeply enjoyed the company of his California friends during his visits to the coast. And loved it when his friends would join him on his trips to the Island. Jack touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family grieves his passing but have beautiful memories of a man, full life . According to his wishes, he will be buried in Catalina with his beautiful wife Tina, during a service on the Island in the spring. There will be an intimate dinner for Jack's closest friends and family in Safford, AZ. If Jack could say one parting thing to all that knew him, it would be : --"You don't want a beer, you want a Budweiser!" In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cancer Society
