Jacqueline Carol Kesler Long 1942 ~ 2009 Jacqueline "Jackie" Long, 66, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at her home in West Valley City, Utah after a battle with cancer. She was born September 22, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Elmo John and Afton Bessie Kesler. She loved the outdoors and walks in the mountains. Her favorite season was autumn and she loved the autumn leaves. She always enjoyed spending time with her family, which she cherished above all. She was a gentle, kind hearted person who was always willing to help others. She always maintained a sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ray Albert Long, half-sister Barbara Jeanne Sheldon, and her parents Elmo and Afton Kesler. Jackie is survived by her children: Ray Long, Melissa Long Maheu and spouse Kevin Maheu, Jennifer Long, Melinda Long and Bryan Patten, Jason Long and spouse Maggie Trump Long; her grandchildren: Maegan Maheu, Rebecca Maheu, and Kaden Patten; her half-brother Robert Sheldon; her half-sisters: Patricia Sheldon Nelson and spouse James Nelson, and Virginia Sheldon Price and spouse Edward Price; and many friends. Jackie's family is grateful to the staff of the Huntsman Cancer Institute for all of their kindness and service. Funeral services will held Wednesday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ridgeland Acres Ward, 3175 South 3450 West, West Valley City, Utah 84119. Family and friends may call for viewing at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment to be announced.
