James Damron

Biography James Eugene Jimmy Damron, 61, of York Valley, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Morenci. He was born on May 29, 1951 in Morenci, to William Wallace Damron and Helen Marie Ely Damron. Jimmy graduated from Duncan High School, served in the U.S. Navy, worked for many of the local ranches in the valley. He is survived by his children, Keith (Ronda) Sweet of Thatcher, Kendra (Brant) Mattice of Pima, Kesia Sweet of Mesa, Diamond Tyler Damron of Pima, and Augustus Damron of Pima; father, William Wallace (Eva) Damron of York Valley; siblings, Wayne (Deanna) Damron of Thatcher, Doug (Lynn) Damron of Duncan, Fred Damron of York Valley, Rhonda Lynn Damron of Clear Lake, CA, and Chris Damron of Tucson; 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Marie Damron, grandson, Keith Dallon Sweet, and stepbrother, Terry Lee Arrow. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Duncan, with Pastor Brad Boyd officiating. Viewing will be from 4-7 p.m., on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel in Safford. Interment will be in the Gila Valley Memorial Gardens in Safford.
