James Meredith

James "Jim" Dale Meredith, 88, of Safford, AZ, passed away on October 17, 2019 in Tucson, AZ of natural causes. Jim was born in Cottage Grove, OR to Lester & Rose Meredith on September 20, 1931. Jim graduated from West Seattle High School and shortly thereafter joined the United States. Air Force, working as an aircraft mechanic during the Korean War. After receiving a medical discharge, Jim earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from his beloved University of Arizona. Jim retired from the Department of Defense as a Personnel Manager, based in numerous locations throughout the United States and Germany. Jim was extremely fond of the Pacific Northwest and grew up at a young age snow skiing and tinkering in the garage, but by far his favorite activity was going on road trips. Through the years, Jim was known to hop in his car and drive 1000 miles just to show up for dinner. Jim is survived by his children; Jim, Andrea, Pam, Rose and Kim. He also has numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by loving wife Phyllis Meredith. The family wishes to extend our sincere thank you to Phil & Kristi English for assisting Jim in his final days. Private services will be held at a later date.
