James Murry Odom Jim James (Jim) Murry Odom, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 8, 2009. He was born January 7, 1939 in Hohenwald, Tennessee, to Elva and Murry Odom. He was an avid fisherman, outdoors man, and lover of dogs. Jim was a Seabee in the US Navy for two and a half years. During this time, he met his wife, Dixie Odom, whom he married on August 9, 1957 in Cornith, Mississippi. He was married for 51 years. Jim is survived by his wife, Dixie; three children: Deborah (Ron), Mike (Lisa) and James Clifford (Shirley); 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Liz); sister-in-law, Beatrice Odom. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles and his beloved dog, Prancy. The family would like to thank Community Nursing and Hospice Care Center and a special thank you to Janna Woolston Services will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road (Redwood Road) Jim was a kind-hearted and beautiful soul who would never raise his voice and get mad at anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He has touched the lives of many. We love you. Now you can go fishin again.
