James Peirce

James Henry Peirce Bluebeard James Henry Peirce, 82, passed away of natural causes May 2, 2008 in Kearns, Utah. Born May 2, 1926 in Ogden, Utah, son of Leslie William and Jennie Pett Peirce. Married LaWana Durfee January 5, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah; solemnized in Salt Lake Temple, 1956. Active member of the LDS Church where he served a stake mission. Served in the US Navy. Worked most of his life and retired from Hercules Aerospace. Loved photography, the outdoors, was an avid hockey fan and John Wayne was his hero. He enjoyed his CB radio and his handle was Bluebeard. In his younger years he was athletic, enjoying running and tennis. He was known for his friendliness and humor and how he liked to make their day. He loved his family deeply and never left without a big hug. Happy birthday, Dad, we will greatly miss you. Survived by his wife, LaWana; children: Karen R. Peirce, Christine DeHaan, Alan (Cindy) Peirce and Alec, Melanie Peirce; grandchildren: Brian (Erin) Lewis, James DeHaan, Nicholas (Sarah) DeHaan, Cameron DeHaan, Mary Jayne, mother of Lacy, Troy and T.J. Peirce; siblings: Leslie William Peirce, Norma Gabel and Carole Lucero. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Harold; sister, Bernice Gibbs. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.
