James H. Tuckett 1922 ~ 2009 James Holden Tuckett, our beloved father and grandfather, passed away at his home November 2, 2009 following a long valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah October 12, 1922 to Franklin Frisby and Mitty Almira Holden Tuckett. He married Bertha Jean Whitehead December 29,1945 in Elko, Nevada and was sealed to his eternal companion August 14, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. He served in many church callings and spent countless hours helping build numerous LDS Chapels. He served as Ward Clerk for many years. He served in the US Marines in both World War II and the Korean Conflict and was the recipient of The Purple Heart. He was a skilled craftsman and could build or repair anything. He was a wonderful, loving, kind, gentle husband. He was an example of what a husband should be to his sons, sons-in-law and grandsons. He was small in stature but was a giant of a man. He was a true, unsung hero. He was a selfless and humble man that lived his life in the service of his family. His family was his highest priority. He is survived by his children: Claudia (Dale) Call, Kathie (Don) Hancock, Jack Tuckett, Colleen (Jed) Hansen, Karla (Ron) Winks; daughter-in-law, Becky Tuckett; 28 grandchildren; 90 great-grand children. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Whitehead Tuckett; son, James William Tuckett; and two grandsons. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009, 11:00 am at the Jordan 1st Ward, 4165 South 3920 West, West Valley City, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, November 6, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
