Janeal Durfee Langton 1941 ~ 2010 Janeal Durfee Langton passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on July 3, 2010 after a valiant 14-month struggle with a brain tumor. She was born January 24, 1941 in Heyburn, Idaho to Kenneth and Josephine Durfee as the third of six children. Janeal moved to Salt Lake City in 1959 to attend school where she graduated with high honors from Henagers Business College. She worked as the secretary of the Department of Microbiology at the University of Utah for 5 years. She made many cherished memories with several roommates. While working in Salt Lake City, she met her sweetheart, Gerald LeRoy Langton, and they were married in the Logan Temple September 7, 1962. She loved to travel and was able to see much of the United States, Europe, Asia, Central America, and Australia. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and needlework and found personal satisfaction in sharing her talents with others. Janeals life has been one of service. She has a sweet disposition and has always been sincere and kind in her interactions with others. She had the great blessing of staying at home with her seven children and spent many hours serving them throughout her life. She was dedicated to preserving family memories by writing journals for each of her children and compiling many scrapbooks for them. She was active in the LDS Church and served faithfully in several callings, including ward and stake primary president and counselor, ward relief society president and counselor, stake relief society counselor, and as a teacher in every organization. She also spent many hours doing family history work and had a great passion for it. As a highlight of their life together, Janeal and her husband Jerry had the privilege of serving the people of Malaysia in the Singapore Mission for eighteen months where they developed many special relationships. Most of all, they developed an even deeper love for each other and a spirit of oneness. Janeal is survived by her husband, Jerry; children: Diane (Rob), Alan (Tiffany), Connie (Mike), Brian (Jen), Cheryl (Dustin), Teresa (Darren), Julie (Jeremy); and 25 grandchildren. Janeal was preceded in death by her parents and sister, LaDean. The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation for the many thoughts and prayers offered in Janeals behalf and is so grateful for the dedicated IMC staff. A special thanks to Dr. Ali Choucair, her neuro-oncologist, for his kind and personal care to her and her family.
