Janie Martinez Wiley, 52, of Safford, formerly of Willcox, entered into rest on Monday, December 22, 2104 in Tucson. She was born September 12, 1962 in Willcox, to Edwardo and Helen Martinez. Janie attended school in the Willcox area, and graduated from Willcox High School in 1980. She worked for the Department of Corrections and as an administrator for several local doctors offices. Janie loved the outdoors and loved to hike especially anywhere there was a stream. She was a good cook. She loved to tend and care for her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of eight years, Bryon Wiley, of Safford; mother, Helen Martinez; son, Ron Abbl of Safford; daughter, Jori Mendez of Safford; stepsons, Braun Wiley of Douglas, Justin Wiley of Tucson, and Brady Wiley of Phoenix; sisters, Tina Lormey and Lina Weaver and brother, Manny Martinez all of Willcox; and grandchildren, Selena, Abie, Matthew, Zachary, and Marshall. She is preceded in death by her father, Eduardo; and brother, Eddie Martinez. Viewing will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford. Rosary will follow at 10:00 a.m. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Rev. Father Robert Rodriguez as celebrant. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Willcox Cemetery.
