The loving Jeanne Marie Nosie-Nino was born on May 7, 1969 to the late Arminda Upshaw-Nosie and Perez Nosie in San Carlos, AZ. She grew up in Bylas, in her childhood years. At a young age her friends were Veronica Kitcheyan, Theresa Dawahoya, Roberta Swift, Sandra Boni, Stephanie Grimes and the late Wanda Grimes. Together they would roller-skate on the paved roads of B-town. Jeanne attended Bylas Headstart then kindergarten through 6th grade at Ft. Thomas Elementary School and continued on at Ft. Thomas Jr. High and High School. During her teenage years, she was honored to partake in the coming of age Apache sunrise dance. Her honored godparents are Mr. & Mr. Chesley and Rebecca Rogers Sr., whom she traveled with to many places, such as Sea World and Disneyland. She loved them because they took her in as their own daughter. In high school Jeanne played Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball and in 1986 they won the State Basketball title, she also won the MVP in softball as the pitcher. After graduating from Ft. Thomas High School in 1989 she left for Reno, Nevada to attend Sierra Nevada Job Corps, where she got her certificate in plastering. There in Nevada she met Marko Nino whom she married and together they were blessed with one son, Angelo Nino. As the years passed Jeannes love for her son grew strong, she was always concerned about him and made sure he was in good hands. Jeanne was employed at the Apache Gold Casino and there she met her companion, Gerald Irving. She also worked for BIA-Forestry as a seasonal firefighter where she would travel out of state at times. She once said she stepped foot on Michael Jacksons Neverland as she was fighting fires. Jeanne was a loving, caring, respectful woman. She always made sure that her relatives knew that she loved them; she would always greet everyone with her big hugs and kisses. She was very friendly, loved the outdoors (camping and fishing) and attending family gatherings and helping out at sunrise dances. There was never a fun gathering without Jeanne, she always sparked the party. On the morning of May 16, 2013, God sent an angel to Mesa, AZ and took Jeanne to rest with Heavenly Father. You will forever be in our hearts. Jeanne was preceded in death by her mother, Arminda Upshaw-Nosie, grandmothers, Verna King, Marie Nosie, uncle, Elvin Preston, great-uncle, Otto Rustin, Sr. She is survived by her son, Mark Angelo Nino Sr., grandkids, Mark Jr., Ladainnian and Markia Nino, companion, Gerald Irving, father, Perez Nosie, sisters, Jennifer Dia, Vickie Nosie and Patty Nosie and brother, Pedro Nosie and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives. A Wake will be held beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25th at the Nosie residence in Bylas. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26th at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Bylas. Pastor Vernon Poncho will conduct the services.
