Jennie Holguin

Jennie Holguin, 63 of Solomon entered into rest Sunday May 15, 2011. Jennie was born April 2, 1948 in Brownsville, Texas. She married Arturo Holguin in August of 1970 in Solomon. Jennie loved cooking, going for rides, listening to Spanish & Oldies music and spending time with friends and family; especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed telling ghost stories to her kids and their friends. She worked as a CNA in the OB department in Safford for several years until she wasnt able to due to illness. Jennie was so sweet and caring. Her smile would light up the room. Everyone that knew her loved her and she will be deeply missed. She was also a very strong woman and fought all her illnesses until God called her home to rest. She is preceded in death by her husband Arturo, daughter Maria, parents Carmen & Felix Rivera, sisters Olivia Rivera and Carmen Rivera. She is survived by her son, Arturo (Margie) Holguin Jr. of El Paso TX; daughters, Rebecca Holguin of Solomon, and Amanda (Martin) McMillan of Safford; sister Maria Mallard; brothers Silver (Martha) Rivera, Felix (Linda) Rivera, Albert (Becky) Rivera, Jessie (Pam) Rivera, Ricardo Rivera and 8 grandchildren. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10: 30 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Solomon. Friends may call on Thursday, May 19th, from 6-8 p.m. with rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery.
