Jerry McClure Bailey of Safford passed away in Tucson March 14, 2010. Jerry was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Lincoln Nebraska to Anna and Jake Bailey. He is survived by 1 brother Jack Bailey of Colorado, two daughters both of Safford, Michell & husband Dave Moeller, Kim & husband Steve Garcia, 3 grandchildren Chad Bailey, Brittany Phillips, Ashley Bailey, 2 great grandchildren Savannah and Sydellea. Jerry was preceded in death by his son Scott Bailey, both parents Jake and Anna and 1 brother Jim Bailey of Nebraska. Jerry didnt come to Safford until after he retired from Bear Creek Corporation in Medford, Oregon. He wanted to be closer to his family and have a place where he could play golf everyday if he wanted. Even though Jerry was retired he still worked. He worked for Budweiser as the Janitor at night and also took care of a few yards during the day. Jerry took a lot of pride in everything he did and was always there to lend a helping hand to whoever needed one. Besides the fact that he was always busy doing something, he always had time for golf. Jerry loved the game and the people that he played the game with. We could go back through the years and give you a life story but the most important thing to us is how he felt about his life. Our dad, the teacher, the optimist, dont let anyone stomp on your dreams kind of person, we believe felt he had a good life. We believe he was grateful for the people that came into his life and touched his heart and we believe he left with no regrets. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Private family services will be held at a later date.
