Biography Henry James Jim Cox, 77, entered into rest January 21, 2010. Jim was born November 1, 1932 in Douglas, Arizona to Henry Howell & Stella Mae Cox. He was raised in Elfrida, Arizona and attended high school in Willcox. He played six man football so well that he was given a football scholarship to EAJC. While attending college he met his future wife Marilyn Faye Gillespie. They were married February 24, 1954. He served two years in the Army during the Korean Conflict; eighteen months were spent in Alaska. While Jim was in Alaska, Marilyn gave birth to their son Jim. Later came their son Tim, daughter Darla and son Randy. After returning from Alaska, Jim was employed by Select Cleaners for a time, then Lines Company, and then he worked for 29 1/2 years for the Arizona State Highway Departments. Fifteen years of that time he spent living and working on the Coronado Trail. Jim retired from the State in 1989. He and his son Jim became business partners over the years and formed their own construction company. He and Marilyn formed a partnership with their close friend Bud Becker and started Becker Petroleum. Jim retired in 1995. Jim enjoyed the pleasure of owning a small ranch outside of Clifton which was a life long dream. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years Marilyn, children Jim (Kathy) Cox, Tim (Suzie) Cox, Darla (Theron) Hansen, Randy Cox, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Stella Cox, brother Jessie Cox, sister Carolyn Carter and brother-in-law Delvar Gillespie.
