Jo Ann Fredrick, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 16, 2024, in Safford, Arizona, at the age of 80. Born on September 18, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, Jo Ann was a bright light in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1962, marking the beginning of a vibrant journey defined by love and laughter.

Jo Ann married her cherished husband, Gerald Fredrick, on June 30, 1962. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with warmth and compassion, a place where hugs were always freely given. Jo Ann often invited others into her embrace with her favorite saying, “Come here and give grandma a hug.” Her love for hugs knew no bounds; she welcomed anyone who walked through her door with open arms and a loving smile.

Her personality shone brightly; she was known for her truthfulness, caring nature, and her gift of connecting with anyone she encountered. Jo Ann had the remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went, fostering deep connections through her kindness and genuine interest in others. Jo Ann’s passions in life were as vibrant as her spirit. She loved to sing karaoke, bringing joy and entertainment to those around her. She found solace in the beauty of nature, often spending time feeding the squirrels and birds that graced her yard, relishing in the simple pleasures of life.

Her family was her pride and joy. Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband, Gerald; two devoted daughters, Julie and Lorie; nine grandchildren who adored her; and 18 great-grandchildren, with another on the way, further expanding her legacy of love. Jo Ann also left behind her two beloved cats and her loyal dog, who were cherished companions in her daily life.

Jo Ann reunited in spirit with her parents, Ilene and Ivan Terrell; her sister, Alice Ann Murphey; and her daughter, Jennifer Fredrick. They are forever missed but hold a special place in their hearts, where memories of her love continue to dwell.

A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Jo Ann's life will be held on December 20, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McDougal Caldwell Funeral Chapel, located at 112 E. Main Street, Safford, Arizona. Family and friends are invited to honor the legacy of this extraordinary woman who brought so much joy and love into the world.
