Joan Griffin Bruse Nan Joan Griffin Bruse, 86, passed away peacefully, in the arms of the love of her life, after many years of pain, blindness, deafness and infections, and then walked into the arms of her Heavenly Father on September 21, 2009. Joan was born January 18, 1923 to Richard LeRoy and Elizabeth Unck Griffin, in Ogden, Utah, the middle of 13 children. She met the love of her life, Bob, while he was on leave from the Navy. They went out one time and she waited 4 years for him to return. They married July 13, 1946 and she has been Dads bride ever since. Their love and devotion has been an example to all they meet. Mom was always for the underdog. She loved children so very much, poetry was her love, and her family was her everything. As a member of the LDS Church she loved working in the Jordan River Temple and served in many callings. Her faith in the Savior was so strong. She is survived by her Bob, of 63 years; children: Jodie (Earl) Meyer, Stansbury Park; Rob (Debbie), Logandale, NV; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jeri, Boots and Louise; brother, Ron. Special thanks to Harmony Health Care, Heather, Bobbi Jo, for your love of Mom all these months. Also to the Millpond Ward for all of their help. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where viewings will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will be Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Utah Veterans Memorial Park, Bluffdale, Utah.
