John Lucero

July 7, 1969 — November 13, 2007

John Edwin Maile Lucero Johnboy John left us suddenly on November 13, 2007, as a result of a heart complication. John was born in Kahuku, Hawaii on July 7, 1969. He attended Monahans High School, Monahans, Texas and Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He served as an LDS missionary in Cebu, Philippines, and following his mission joined the US Navy, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Southwest Asia Service Medal. John married Courtney Anne Roseborough in 1998 and was blessed with two sons before divorcing. A talented carpenter he was currently employed at Behunin Horticulture working closely with his brother, A.J. He possessed the capacity to befriend those around him, sharing his smile and humor with all. He will be most remembered as a great Daddy, spending many hours playing baseball, basketball, soccer, and watching TV with his boys. He loved them dearly. A very special father, son, brother and uncle, his passing is a great loss to us all. John is survived by his parents, John and Clarice Peggy Lucero; sons, Maile and Kekoa Lucero; brothers, A.J. (Tonya) and Shane Lucero; Aunt Lesa Bonham; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who all loved him. A memorial celebration will be held Monday, November 19, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church, 913 West 4800 South. A viewing will be held Sunday, November 18, 2007, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Prior to services a viewing will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
