John Martinez

John Martinez Wheeler Dealer Johnny Martinez, dedicated father and grandfather, passed away on January 1, 2009, due to complications from diabetes. He was born April 21, 1949 in Ely, Nevada, to Marcella and Samuel Martinez and was raised in Kearns nearly all his life. He worked as a rubber layer for over 30 years and was very proud of his work. He enjoyed his old cars, Harley Davidsons, and spending time with his family. He had a passion for collecting cookie jars and die cast cars, as well as anything else he could find. Johnny married his soul mate, Sandra Martinez on October 2, 1971, and raised their children in the house he grew up in. This house was the main stopping place for all family and especially life-long friends. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; my boy Marty and Tina Martinez; daughters, Jessica and Faith Martinez; 9 grandchildren: Sonny, Shelby, Travis and Jaden, his special muttinheads, John, Marty, Jaelynn, Jace & Kamani; 2 great-grandchildren, Brandon & Diego; brothers, Will & Jan, Sam & Pat, Bernie & Sue; sisters, Mary & Orlinda and Many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Flavio; baby, Juanita Lynn. A special thank you to Hospice Care. A viewing and rosary will be held Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 4501 West 5215 South. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Francis.
