John W. McMillan Jack John William McMillan passed away October 31, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jack was born July 26, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Kyle Adams and Elizabeth Emery Timpson McMillan. He attended Jackson Elementary and West High School and served in the US Army during WWII. He worked for AS & R and Kennecott Smelter for 38 years. Married Ardonna Cloward July 1, 1946; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple August 30, 1955. Ardonna passed away September 12, 1986. He later married Fern Ella Clark Anderson October 7, 1995; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple January 6, 1996. Jack was a faithful member of the LDS Church and was a diligent home teacher and devoted youth leader. He was an avid outdoors man and fisherman, loved all animals and cherished his memories of working in the rodeo at Madison Square Garden as a young man. He was also an avid University of Utah fan and loved nothing more than to watch his Utes win. Jack sustained a serious injury in an industrial accident in 1950 but never let the resulting disability slow him down. He lived a long and full life characterized by integrity and love for his family. Survived by wife, Fern; children: Larry John McMillan, Randy Kyle (Paulette) McMillan; 4 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Emily, Andrea and Larry John; 3 great-grandchildren: Madison, Kyle and Charlotte. Also preceded in death by brother, Dick; sister, Marion; and his parents. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of the VA Hospital and Garden Terrace for their compassion during the last days of Jacks life. I am a Utah man, sir! Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2009,11:00 a.m. at the Parliament Park Ward, 1510 Parliament Ave. (3940 S.). Viewings will be held Friday, November 6, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
