John B. Sircy, 90, was born March 28, 1922, and passed away on November 10, 2012, at his home in Bradenton, FL. He was born in Lafayette, TN, moved to Morenci in 1955 and was employed by Phelps Dodge. During this time he lived both in Morenci and Thatcher. John was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for over 50 years and could always be seen helping others at the Odd Fellows Food Pantry, Christmas Gifts for children, and support for many other activities in the community. After he moved to Bradenton, FL, in 2009, he continued this passion by working in the food pantry at St. Georges Episcopal Church, where it was often said his smile and stories brought great comfort to many in need. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Corine, in 2006 and is survived by his son Micheal, daughter-in-law Patricia, of Bradenton, three grand-daughters, Alexandra Sanders of San Diego, Michelle Mulbach of Dallas, Candace Daugherty of Bradenton, and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17, at the Safford Seventh Day Adventist Church. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. It is requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Mount Graham Odd Fellows Lodge, Safford, for use in buying Christmas gifts for children in need.
